Pakistan and Iran move further closer on Afghanistan issue

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says sustained internationalengagement is essential in view of the evolving economic situation inAfghanistan.

In a telephonic conversation with his Iranian counterpart Dr. Hossein AmirAbdollahian, he expressed the hope that international community would rampup provision of humanitarian assistance on urgent basis, in view of theupcoming winter season.

Iranian Foreign Minister Dr. Abdollahian invited Shah Mahmood Qureshi toparticipate in the second Ministerial meeting of the neighboring countriesof Afghanistan, to be held in Tehran next week.
