UK government issued new travel guidelines for Pakistani passengers

The United Kingdom (UK) government has issued new guidelines for travelersfrom Pakistan, mandating a five-day quarantine and PCR tests on arrival.

The United Kingdom (UK) Civil Aviation Authority (UK CAA) said that after22 September, fully vaccinated people from Pakistan would be allowed totravel to the country.

However, all passengers will be required to serve the quarantine period athome as some of the vaccines administered in Pakistan are not approved bythe UK government.

The British aviation authority said that the quality of recognized vaccinesin Pakistan is not its [primary] concern, but it does have reservationsabout the process of issuing vaccination certificates in the country.

Therefore, the on-arrival PCR and quarantine conditions for Pakistanipassengers will remain in place until the government of Pakistan formulatesa credible mechanism for vaccine certification.

According to the new guidelines, even fully vaccinated passengers fromPakistan will undergo a PCR test and fill out a locator form. Then, theywill serve a five-day quarantine, which could be ended after returning anegative PCR test on the fifth day.
