Pakistan on Tuesday conducted a successful test flight of Fatah-1, aPakistan-made guided multi-launch rocket system capable of deliveringconventional warheads, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPRlink) in a statement on Twitter.
According to the Pakistan Army’s media wing, the new weapons system willequip the military with the ability to strike deep into enemy territory.
This was the secondlinktestof the Fatah-1. In Jan this year, the ISPR had revealed that Pakistansuccessfully conducted a test flight of indigenously developed Fatah-1. Atthe time, ISPR chief Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar had stated that the weaponsystem was capable of delivering a conventional warhead up to a range of140 kilometres.
In March this year, the army conducted a successful test launch of theShaheen 1-A medium-range ballistic missile. “The missile spanned a range of900 kilometers and the test flight was aimed at the re-validating ofvarious design and technical parameters of the weapon system including anadvanced navigation system,” said the military’s media wing at the time.
The armed forces have already launched the Shaheen-3link, Ghaznavilink, Babur cruise missilelinkthisyear.
