A high-level military delegation led by General Fayyadh Bin HamedAl-Ruwaili, Chief of General Staff (CGS), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, onMonday held separate meetings with Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief ofArmy Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
The premier welcomed the delegation and conveyed his warm regards to KingSalman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He addedthat the people of Pakistan always accorded special reverence to the Saudileadership
Reaffirming the close fraternal ties between the two countries, PrimeMinister Imran Khan underscored Pakistan’s commitment and support for thesovereignty and territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on a range of important issues ofcommon interest. The Prime Minister underlined the importance attached byPakistan to further deepening and broadening mutual cooperation andstrengthening people-to-people linkages with the Kingdom.
He hoped that the recently established Saudi-Pakistan Supreme CoordinationCouncil (SPSCC) would play a catalytic role in fostering enhanced bilateralcooperation in all fields.
The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction at the robust defencerelationship between the two countries, and hoped that bilateral defencecooperation will grow further in the years ahead.
General Al-Rowailly acknowledged the excellent collaboration andappreciated the professionalism of Pakistan armed forces.
During the meeting, the latest situation in Yemen was also discussed.
The Prime Minister expressed Pakistan’s support for resolving the conflictin Yemen through dialogue and diplomacy, and appreciated Saudi efforts inthis regard.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have long-standing and historic fraternalrelations, rooted deep in common faith, shared history and mutual support.Regular and high level exchange of visits is a reflection of excellentrelations between the two countries.

During the meeting with army chief, geo-strategic environment, securitysituation in Afghanistan and matters of mutual interest were discussedincluding bilateral defence cooperation and Training Exchange Programme. Inview of the evolving regional security situation, Saudi CGS expressed fullsupport for Pakistan’s efforts for peace in the region.
The dignitary acknowledged Pakistan Army’s achievements in war againstterrorism and contributions for regional peace and stability. Saudi CGSthanked Pakistan Army for its sustained assistance in training of SaudiArmed Forces and expressed his desire to enhance bilateral defencecollaboration.
Earlier on arrival at GHQ, General Fayyadh Bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili laid floralwreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada. A smartly turned out contingent of PakistanArmy presented Guard of Honour to the visiting dignitary.
