The Taliban have captured eight more districts of north-eastern Badakhshanin the past twenty hours.
Meanwhile three hundred Taliban were killed in fighting with governmentforces in several provinces of the country.
Afghan Ministry of Defence said scores were killed in air strikes includinga pre-dawn assault today, in the southern province of Helmand, where theTaliban and government troops are engaged in fierce battle.
Meanwhile, the Taliban rejected the government’s claims.
