COAS General Qamar Bajwa’s warning against spoilers of Afghanistan peace process

RAWALPINDI – General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), said onWednesday that spoilers of peace in Afghanistan risk regional instability.

According to the ISPR, COAS made the remarks while expounding on Pakistan’ssupport to Afghan Peace Process during his address to participants ofNational Security and War Course (NSWC) – 21 at National Defence University(NDU), Islamabad.

Army chief dilated upon the evolving strategic and regional environment.Pakistan stands for peace within and all around, as it looks forward toacting as a bridge between regions, COAS said.

Expressing resolute support to the people of IIOJ&K, Gen Bajwa stressedupon a peaceful and durable solution of Kashmir issue in line with relevantUN resolutions and aspirations of Kashmiri people.

Sharing his vision of Pakistan Army, he underscored the need for continuousevaluation of existing doctrine and corresponding strategy to effectivelydeal with the evolving threats in various domains.

The country’s top General termed professionalism, competence and devotionto duty as hall mark of Pakistan Army and emphasised on realistic andfuturistic training for maintaining perpetual operational readiness.

Force modernization and induction of advanced technologies are imperativefor maintaining qualitative edge over adversary, COAS remarked.

A well-equipped, well-trained and motivated Army having unwavering supportof its people can surmount any challenge, he emphasised adding that theforces that wish to undermine the unbreakable bond between Armed Forces andthe nation are bound to fail.

Congratulating the participants on successful completion of their course,COAS advised them to stay focused on attaining professional excellencewhile remaining abreast with revolutionary advancements in warfare whichare redefining national security.
