The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council has approvedvarious projects worth over 326 billion rupees.
The ECNEC, which met in Islamabad with Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin inthe chair approved dualization of Lilla Interchange at M-2 via Pind-DadanKhan to Jhelum including two bypasses at a cost of 12.760 billion rupees.
The other key projects approved by ECNEC are included the reconstruction of115 kilometer long Turbat-Mand Road from M-8 till Iranian Border-Radeeqcosting 10.461 billion rupees.
It also approved Construction of Panjgur-Gichak-Awaran Road, DistrictPanjgur/ Awaran, 228 Km Project at the rationalized cost of 14.68 billionrupees.
Inter Provincial Connectivity Economic Corridor Through Gilgit- Baltistanand AJK(Thallichi GB- Shounter AJK), widening and rehabilitation of AstoreValley Road, Package i-iv_ 103 KM, Package iv-vii_ 18 KM, and total length121 KM (package I to V and VII) Project was approved at the rationalizedcost of 19.195 billion rupees.
Dualization of Khuzdar-Kuchlak Section of National Highway (N-25), 330.52Km Project was approved at PC-I cost of 81.582 billion rupees. Constructionof Shandoor Gilgit Road, 216 Km Project was approved at the PC-I cost of49.946 billion rupees.
Gish Kaur Storage Dam, Sami Kallag, District Kech Project was approved atthe total cost of 11.789 billion rupees. The dam will have the storagecapacity of 0.04580 Million Acre Feet and will provide irrigation facilityto 13800 acres of command area.
The Establish of IT Park, Karachi, was also approved by ECNEC at the totalcost of 31.199 billion rupees.
Pak University of Engineering and Emerging Technologies Phase-I was alsoapproved in principle at the total cost of 23.551 billion rupees. ECNECdirected that the cost of the project may be further rationalized in 3months and ECNEC should be informed on the same.
