Islamabad – Parliamentary leaders in National Assembly in a briefing by topForeign Ministry officials including Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshiwere assured that Pakistan was not giving any of its military bases to USforces after withdrawal of the US troopslink from Afghanistan.
Parliamentary leaders were apprised of latest developments in Afghanistanand what impact it would have on Pakistan.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi ruled out giving any Pak bases to USforces.
“No US footprint s on our soil”, a source quoted Shah Mehmood Qureshi assaying.
He also disclosed that withdrawal process is in progress in Afghanistan and US forces may leave Afghanistan before the September 11 deadline.
Pakistan would continue to extend its cooperation for peace andreconciliation in Afghanistan which is crucial for stability in the region,he added.

Leaders were also told that Pakistan remains neutral and wanted that allpolitical elements in Afghanistan be taken on board on peace andreconciliation which is only way forward.
Foreign Minister said Pakistan has conveyed its reservations to Afghan govton irresponsible statements emanating from within Afghan govt againstPakistan, which he said would be counterproductive.
He said Pakistan is concerned about deteriorating security situation inAfghanistan and assured that all necessary measures are in place to meetany eventuality from across the border.
Foreign Minister said Muslim countries fully support Pakistan’s effortsfor Afghan peace and reconciliation.
