Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has underscored the resolve to forge deepereconomic engagement between Pakistan and Qatar in various sectors,including trade, investment, energy, communications, and food security.
He said this while receiving a telephone call from Qatari Emir Sheikh TamimBin Hamad Al Thani on Monday.
The Prime Minister also appreciated the measures taken by Qatar for thewell-being of the Pakistani workers in the fields of security, health andinfrastructure.
The Prime Minister appreciated the role played by Qatar in the Afghan peaceprocess and expressed the desire that both countries should continue towork together for peace, stability and humanitarian assistance for thepeople in Afghanistan.
The Amir extended warm felicitations to Shehbaz Shaif on the assumption ofoffice as the Prime Minister of Pakistan and assured of full support indeepening Qatar’s relations with Pakistan.
The Prime Minister thanked the Emir for his gracious gesture. He underlinedthe importance Pakistan attaches to its relationship with Qatar andreaffirmed the strong desire to further expand bilateral cooperation indiverse fields.
The Prime Minister extended a cordial invitation to the Emir to visitPakistan at an early date.
The two leaders agreed to remain in close contact and take forward theprocess of consolidation and further expansion of Pakistan-Qatar relations.
