With Rs 10 increase in the sugar price in Pakistan the sugar mafia andcartel has earned billions of rupees in last two to three days in Pakistan.
With the arrival of the PML N government the sugar prices suddenlywitnessed an increase of Rs 10 from the old price of Rs 85 to new price ofRs 95.
However the spokesperson of the government said that the monitoring teamschecked the price of sugar in Karachi’s Juria Bazar, Lahore’s Akbari Mandiand Islamabad for the price of sugar and found it in accordance with thegovernment fixed rate.
The ministry said that as per the government’s policy it is mandatory toshow CNIC while purchasing from the utility stores to ensure the provisionof essential items to the masses at a lower price.
The ministry further said that the sugar is being sold at Rs85 at theutility stores across the country, while there were some reports about theselling of the commodity at Rs94 per kg on which inquiry has been launched.
