Asif Ali Zardari likely to give a blow to the new PMLN government

ISLAMABAD:

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is likely to give a blow to the newgovernment of Shahbaz Sharif.

Despite utmost efforts from the PM Shahbaz Sharif the PPP is unlikely tojoin the new government in Islamabad. PPP appears to be reluctant to jointhe federal cabinet due to division in its ranks as most of its leaders areseeking support for electoral reforms without taking ministries.

In this regard, sources said PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari andCo-chairman Asif Ali Zardari have started consultations on the matter inthe light of different and contradictory views.

The sources said most of the PPP leaders are seeking the new federalgovernment’s support for electoral reforms without taking charge ofministries.

Some of the leaders are of the opinion that they should join the federalcabinet for political stability. They believe that participation isnecessary for political stability, and if they did not join the cabinet, the coalition government would not be able to function for even two months.
