LAHORE: PML-N Senator Ishaq Dar is likely to rerun back to Pakistanimmediately after the fall of the government and will take over as thefinance minister of Pakistan in the new cabinet.
Ishaq Dar who lives in London in self-exile, has asked the Lahore HighCourt to direct the Senate chairman to allow him to take oath through avideo link. He has approached the court through his special attorneyMuhammad Yasin Baig.
The petition, filed through Advocate Salman Aslam Butt, contends that Darwas elected as a senator on a technocrat seat from Punjab in the electionheld on March 9, 2018. It says the election of Dar was challenged atvarious stages culminating in proceedings before the Supreme Court whereinhis notification as the returned candidate was suspended.
