Punjab Assembly to be dissolved: sources

LAHORE: After the abrupt dissolution of the National Assembly, PunjabAssembly is also likely to be dissolved soon, sources said Monday.

President Dr Arif Alvi dissolved the National Assembly on the advice ofPrime Minister Imran Khan as the PTI government evaded the no-confidencemotion against the premier.

Punjab Governor Omar Sarfaraz Cheema may ask former Punjab chief ministerUsman Buzdar to take charge as caretaker Punjab CM, they added.

Meanwhile, the newly appointed Punjab governor has been summoned toIslamabad where he will meet Prime Minister Imran Khan today.

Sources close to the matter said that the premier would guide Cheema overthe strategy to be applied next amid the ongoing political turmoil.

Meanwhile, PM Imran Khan also summoned Buzdar and PTI senator MehmoodurRasheed to the federal capital.
