Opposition parties face another big setback

Supreme Court (SC) Sunday evening rejected the Joint Opposition’s plea tosuspend link the rulinglink of the Deputy Speakerlink saying it cannot interfere in theproceedings of the National Assembly (NA).

The SC link also made the orders of the PrimeMinister and the President of Pakistan conditional saying that any order ofthem after the dissolution of the Assemblies will be subject to thepermission of the SC link.

The Apex Court has also issued notices to the Attorney General of Pakistanand all the stakeholders of the no-confidence motion for tomorrowlink.

According to the 24News HD TV channel report, the SClink converted the case into the Chief Justiceof Pakistan (CJP) Umer Ata Bandial’s Suo Moto Notice and adjourned thehearing till March 04.

The SC link also issued notices to HomeSecretary, Secretary of Defense, and Advocate General Punjab and a reportwas sought from the National Assembly secretary too. The court also issuednotice to all the stakeholders of the no-confidence motion.
