President approved PM’s advice of dissolving the National Assembly

Islamabad – President of Pakistan has approved the PM advice of dissolvingthe National Assembly of Pakistan. New elections to be held in Pakistanwithin 90 days, Minister of State for information Farrukh Habib hasinformed. In televised address after dismissal of no-confidence vote, primeminister calls for early elections. Prime Minister Imran Khan, in a brieftelevised address to the nation, on Sunday announced that he had advisedPresident Arif Alvi to dissolve Parliament and call for early elections.

His announcement came within minutes of National Assembly Deputy SpeakerQasim Suri, who was chairing today’s session in place of Speaker AsadQaiser, dismissed the opposition’s no-confidence motion against Khan afterdeclaring it in violation of Article 5 of the Constitution.

“I want to congratulate the nation that the NA speaker has rejected aregime change that was being imposed on the nation through a foreignagenda,” Khan said in his speech. “I have advised the president to dissolvethe assemblies,” he said, reiterating his allegations of the oppositionhaving “wasted its money” to buy the loyalties of PTI dissenters, as thatwould now all have gone to waste.
