Miftah Ismail — who might get appointed as the finance minister of the newgovernment said that they will ask the IMF to provide the remaining $3billion to Pakistan in the next six months.
“Pakistan’s finance minister of the new government will hold a meeting withIMF functionaries on April 18 in Washington for the revival of the $6billion programmes to get the remaining amount of $3 billion in the nextsix months to help stabilise the fast-depleting reserves and ensure smoothfinancial supplies from other donor agencies,” he said, confident enoughthat the Opposition will oust the premiere tomorrow.
So far, the IMF has provided $3 billion to Pakistan out of $6 billion. Thenew government will also go for the review of the programme, seekingsoftening terms and conditions to get the country out of the economicmorass and provide maximum solace to the countrymen.
He said there is a vast difference between Shahbaz Sharif and Imran KhanNiazi. “Shahbaz is the person who believes in work, work and work, and hedelivered well in the past being the Punjab chief minister whereas ImranKhan believes in just talking and walking.”
