Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) has appealed to Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP)Justice Umar Ata Bandial to ensure that votinglink on the opposition’s no-trust motionlink in the National Assembly takes placeaccording to the constitution.
In its declaration, the PBC link has expressedthe fear that any delay in voting link onthe no-confidence motion link harmdemocracy.
The PBC link has also expressed the fear thattensions between the government and the opposition may give an excuse tonon-democratic forces to intervene. “Therefore in order to ensure the ruleof law link, the CJPlink is requested to take notice of thesituation and ensure completion of the process in the light of theconstitution,” reads the declaration.
