PM Imran Khan may announce new elections in Pakistan: Report

In connection with the joint opposition’s strong move of No-ConfidenceMotion against the Prime Minister in the National Assembly, Imran Khan isconsidering announcing new elections in the country.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, the suggestion of announcing newelections was given by some important circles to Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The sources said that a draft agreement has been prepared regarding theannouncement of new elections.

The sources said that as per the proposed draft agreement, the new electionis to be announced before voting on a no-confidence motion.

The proposed draft agreement also suggested opposition will withdraw itsno-confidence motion if new elections have been announced.

Three important meetings were held to discuss the proposed agreement, thesources said adding that the draft agreement has also proposed that newelections should take place in the next three to four months

On the other hand, the sources said that the proposal presented by the PMImran-led government to hold elections in March next year was rejected.

The sources said that the two ministers who have participated in theseimportant meetings have also agreed with the proposal of announcing newelections.
