ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan for the first time spoke aboutthe appointment of a new Pakistan army chief and termed as speculations thereports that a new army chief will be appointed in April.
“The appointment of new army chief will take place in November 2022”, PrimeMInister Imran Khan said this while talking to a group of selectedjournalists at the PM Office on Friday.
When asked about his working relations with the army chief, the PM said hehas good relations with Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
When asked who could be behind the present political crisis, he said thatthe prevailing political instability in the country is under awell-conceived conspiracy. The prime minister said the no-confidence motionis a legal and political issue. However, the loyalties of MPs shall not besold and is, by no means, acceptable to him. Imran Khan went on to say thatno one knows about the fate of the no-confidence motion and it would onlybe open at the time of the voting.
“The number of the people who come to attend the session will only beidentified on that day,” he said.
Mr. Khan said his government is in contact with the coalition parties andall the cards will come under light on that day.
He said that the number game will continue till the ‘last over of thematch’.
“We are fully prepared for the counting on the no-confidence, whether ittake place earlier or gets delayed. We are prepared for the results of theno-confidence motion,” he maintained.
