Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called on Army Chief General Qamar JavedBajwa in Rawalpindi on Wednesday.
During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional security andmeasures to further enhance bilateral defence cooperation were discussed.
The Chinese Foreign Minister said that Pakistan-China relationship is basedon convergence of views and mutual respect.
Appreciating professionalism of Pakistan Army, Wang Yi said that worldshould acknowledge Pakistan’s efforts towards regional peace and stability.He appreciated security provided to CPEC and said that China believes ininclusive prosperity.
Referring to 48th Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, GeneralBajwa termed it a historic development for addressing the dire humanitariansituation in Afghanistan and bringing international community to a sharedvision and joint strategy to find solution to emerging challenges in theregion vital for peace and stability.
He also thanked the Foreign Minister for his visit and continued Chinesesupport to Pakistan.
The visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s role regional stability andpledged to play his role for further improvements in diplomatic cooperationwith Pakistan at all levels. He specially appreciated Pakistan’s effortsfor hosting 48th Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers.
