A powerful earthquake link jolted anumber of cities link in Punjablink Friday morning as people were headingto their offices and schools.
The earthquake link was measures 4.6 onRichter scale and mainly struck near Burewala in Vehari District. Thetremor was recorded at 7:54 am at a shallow depth of 20km below the surface.
The epicentre of the earthquake link waslocated 12 km away from Burewala in Okaralink.
The people rushed out of their houses reciting Holy Quran verses.

According to the Volcano Discovery website, based on the preliminaryseismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, butwas probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of theepicentre.
