Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) officials unveiled the factbefore the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the National Assembly (NA)that Saudi Arabia is not providing refined oil to Pakistan but only crudeoil.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the PAC meeting was held onWednesday here in Islamabad in which OGDCL officials including SecretaryPetroleum and Pakistan State Oil (PSO) Managing Director (MD) appeared. PACChairman Noor Alam Khan presided over the meeting.
On some queries, the OGDCL official confirmed that the furnished productdoes not come from Saudi Arabia and Pakistan is getting only crude oil fromthe Islamic brother country.
The Petroleum secretary officials informed that the profit margin ofpetroleum dealers is Rs7 per litre and no subsidy is being given onpetroleum products under the IMF programme.
To a query, the PSO managing director (MD) told the committee that hismonthly salary after excluding tax is Rs3.2 million. On which PAC chairmansaid him that if he is angry about the salary question then he shouldresign and go as there are many qualified people in Pakistan willing towork for less salary than you.
Noor Alam Khan said to him that he is not satisfied with the answersregarding petroleum as the gas and petrol system is worse in the countrybut their salary and benefits are very high.
The PAC chairman also asked about the appointment of Ruhi Khan, theChairperson of the Board of the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL)and warned to charge salaries and other amounts of benefits if foundirregularities in her appointment.
The PAC chairman ordered the gas authorities to install the meters for thepeople whose demand notices have already been issued.
