The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday tossed appeals byPTI Chairman Imran Khan and senior party leader Asad Umar against the heftyfines imposed by the Commission for violating election code of conduct.
The ECP link announced its decision after noone on behalf of Imran Khan link and AsadUmar link appeared before thecommission.
It may be noted that despite ECP linkdirectives, Imran Khan link had onMarch 15 last had visited Swat and addressed a gathering while he was stillin office ahead of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s local government elections thatwere scheduled for March 31. The ECP link had,as a result, imposed a fine of Rs 50,000.
