*LAHORE: United States (US) Consul General William K. Makaneole has vowedto enhance bilateral cooperation with the Punjab government. *
According to details, the understanding came during a meeting between ChiefMinister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and US Consul General William K.Makaneole in Lahore today (Thursday).
During the meeting, views were exchanged on Pak-US relations, parliamentaryand other matters of mutual interest while William K. Makaneolecongratulated and expressed good wishes to Pervaiz Elahi on assuming PunjabCM office.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister noted that relations betweenPakistan and the United States are multi-faceted. “The Punjab governmentdesires for good ties with the United States,” he added.

CM Pervazi Elahi further said that Pakistan always wants friendly relationswith neighbouring countries. “All citizens, including minorities, enjoyequal rights as per the constitution,” he maintained.
Meanwhile, the US Consul general said that the United States values itsrelations with Pakistan and would further enhance cooperation with thePunjab government in various fields.
