Pakistani Rupee gives another heavy blow to the US dollar

The Pakistani Rupee buoyed by the prospects of receiving tranche of theIMF-revived loan programme in near future, delivered another heavy blow tothe US dollar.

The rupee link soared by Rs4.66 taking downthe US dollar’s value to Rs217.25 in the interbank business.

The trend was same in the open market, where the greenback lost anotherrupee link in its value and was now beingtraded at Rs217.

The Pakistani rupee link has continued itsrecovery drive against the US dollar link fora seventh consecutive working session in the interbank market.

The greenback closed at Rs221.91 on Wednesday when the local currency wasappreciated by 0.96 percent as compared to the previous day’s close.
