*ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has formed a six-memberteam to launch an investigation into Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)prohibited funding case. *
The FIA has made progress on the investigation in the PTI prohibitedfunding case after the verdict of the Election Commission of Pakistan(ECP). A six-member investigation team was formed by the intelligenceagency.
Sources told ARY News that Director Amna Baig will lead the investigationteam.
Sources added that four employees nominated in the ECP report were includedin the initial investigation. The employees who recorded their initialtestimonies to the FIA included Muhammad Rafique, Tahir Iqbal and MuhammadArshad.
Yesterday, the federal government decided to file a disqualificationreference against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khanlinkafterthe verdict of the prohibited funding case.
The federal cabinet approved the recommendation to file a disqualificationreference against PTI Chief and former prime minister Imran Khan andordered the FIA to launch a money laundering inquiry into fake bankaccounts used by the political party.
