Ministry of Science and Technology has made a policy to set up a “BhungAuthority”. According to the report, the government will introduce aNational Hemp and Cannabis Authority and its Board of Governor will becomprised of secretaries of six ministries.
While the Anti-Narcotics Department will monitor the procurement ofcannabis, import of its seeds, and the cultivation and transportation.
ANF will also conduct an audit of the seeds that will be introduced by theinvestors in the country.
As per the policy, the authority will issue licenses for industrial hempand cannabis that will be issued for the next 15 years to the investors.

The license holder will be authorized to import and cultivate the purchaseof cannabis and the Ministry of Food will issue the No ObjectionCertificate (NOC) for the import or export of cannabis seeds.
