Former Chairman WAPDA Lt General (R) Muzammil lands in hot waters

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore has summoned formerchairman of the Wapda (Water & Power Development Authority) Lt-Gen(retd) MuzammilHussain link on June 6 inconnection with the financial irregularities in mega power projects,reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The NAB has summoned the former chairmanlink of Wapdalink for causing billions of rupees loss tothe national exchequer by slowing the pace of the projects and corruptionlink involved in these projects duringthe last three years.

Muzammil has been facing allegations of Rs753 million corruptionlink in the Tarbela-4 Extension Project.

He has been accused of forcefully wrong payments to the contractors inthese projects.

The 1410 Tarbela-4 mega project has been nearing its completion but due tothe slow pace, the per megawatt cost rose to 1410 (which is the highestcost).
