BEIJING – Pakistani top leadership’s show of solidarity with China overkilling of Chinese citizens in Karachi once again demonstrated that allweather strategic cooperative partnership between China and Pakistan isdeeply rooted in the hearts of the people and any attempt to underminemutual trust and cooperation is doomed to fail, Chinese Foreign MinistrySpokesperson, Zhao Lijian said on Thursday.
Addressing a regular briefing held here, he said, after attack of theConfucius Institute at the University of Karachi, President Arif Alvi,Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Speaker of the National Assembly, RajaPevaiz Ashraf, Foreign Minister, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Tehreek Insaf,Leader Imran Khan and other lawmakers of the Senate of Pakistan andNational Assembly visited the Chinese embassy to pay their condolences.Different social sectors in Pakistan also expressed their condemnation andcondolences.
“This once again shows that the All Weather Strategic CooperativePartnership between China and Pakistan is deeply rooted in the hearts ofthe people and that the attempt of terrorist forces to undermineChina-Pakistan mutual trust and cooperation is doomed to fail,” he said inresponse to a question raised by APP.
The spokesperson said that China would work with Pakistan to get to thebottom of the truth, bring the perpetrators to justice, and give asatisfactory explanation and answer to the two peoples.
He said that China paid great attention to Pakistan’s commitment tostrengthening the security of Chinese personnel, projects and institutions.
“We are ready to work with Pakistan to ensure the smooth operation of ourcooperation in a safe manner and prevent such incidents from happeningagain,” he added.
On April 26, three Chinese teachers of Confucius Institute at KarachiUniversity and their driver were killed when their shuttle van was hit byin a suicide attack.
 Soon after incident, Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited Chinese Embassy inIslamabad and met with China’s Acting Ambassador, Pang Chunxue to conveyhis condolences.
He instructed the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough investigationinto the incident and assured that the government would spare no efforts toapprehend the perpetrators and hold them accountable.
On the same afternoon, Chief Minister of Sindh Province, Murad Ali Shahpaid visit to the Chinese Consulate General in Karachi to offer condolencesto the families of victims.
Later, President Dr. Arif Alvi, Speaker National Assembly, Raja PervaizAshraf, Foreign Minister Bilalwal Bhutto, Chairman, Tehrik-e-Insaf, ImranKhan, several members of the Senate of Pakistan and National Assembly paidseparate visits to the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad to offer condolencesand express solidarity and support.
They strongly condemned the Karachi blast in which three Chinese teachersand a Pakistani driver lost their lives.
