CPI Inflation in Pakistan hit historic high

The CPI inflation has reached 13.37% in the month of April registering anincrease of 1.61% as compared to the previous month of March. The ratio ofCPI link inflationlink from July last to Aprillink this year remained 11.04%.

According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, CPIlink inflationlink general was increased by 13.4% onyear-on-year basis in April link 2022 ascompared to an increase of 12.7% in the previous month and 11.1% in Aprillink 2021. On month-on-month basis, itincreased by 1.6% in April link 2022 ascompared to increase of 0.8% in the previous month and increase of 1.0% inApril link 2021.

The CPI link inflationlink Urban was increased by 12.2% onyear-on-year basis in April link ascompared to an increase of 11.9% in the previous month and 11.0% in Aprillink 2021. On month-on-month basis, itincreased by 1.6% in April link 2022 ascompared to increase of 0.7% in the previous month and increase of 1.3% inApril link 2021.

The CPI link inflationlink Rural was increased by 15.1% onyear-on-year basis in April link ascompared to an increase of 13.9% in the previous month and 11.3% in Aprillink 2021. On month-on-month basis, itincreased by 1.6% in April link 2022 ascompared to increase of 1.0% in the previous month and increase of 0.6% inApril link 2021.

The SPI inflation link on YoY increasedby 14.2% in April link 2022 as compared toan increase of 13.0% a month earlier and an increase of 21.3% in Aprillink 2021. On MoM basis, it increased by1.5% in April link as compared toincrease of 0.6% a month earlier and increase of 0.4% in Aprillink 2021.
