Interior Minister announces arrests over the blasphemy FIRs

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has strongly condemned the recentdeplorable incident at Masjid e Nabvi (SAWW), declaring that the governmentwill not create hurdle if any citizen wants to take any legal actionagainst the accused culprits.

He was addressing a news conference in Lahore on Sunday, along with LawMinister Azam Nazir Tarar.

He said that this tragic incident has caused shock and sorrow all around.He said that FIRs have been registered and all concerned quarters have beendirected to take action on merit in accordance with law.

He said that PTI’ call for protest on Chaand Raat is beyond understanding.He said action will be taken against all persons who will take law intotheir own hands.

Speaking on the occasion, Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar anyPakistani citizen can be prosecuted inside Pakistan, who is accused of anyoffence abroad. He clarified that FIRs have not been registered underBlasphemy law.

He said that the Government cannot sit silent on the insult of holy worshipplaces. He said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has directed not to takeaction against any innocent person, not involved in this deplorableincident.

To a question, regarding the oath taking of the new Punjab Chief Minister,the Law Minister praised the restraint shown by the judiciary on theoath-taking issue.
