NEPRA to increase electricity prices by Rs 3.15 per unit

*ISLAMABAD – National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) willconduct hearing on Wednesday on the application of Central Power PurchasingAgency (CPPA).*

Application to increase power Tariff has been submitted under the head offuel price adjustment. According to the application, 10 billion unitselectricity was produced in the month of March. Total cost of electricityproduction remained Rs94billion.

The most expensive electricity was produced from furnace oil which costRs22.52 per unit. The electricity which is produced from LNG cost Rs14.36per unit. Electricity was imported from Iran on Rs17.35 per unit.Electricity of Rs0.27 per unit was spent on line losses.
