PM Shahbaz Sharif visits Chinese embassy to offer condolence on death of Chinese nationals in Karachi

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid a visit to the Chineseembassy in the country’s federal capital Islamabad after four peopleincluding three Chinese citizens were killed in the latest terror incidenton Tuesday.

The premier met Chinese Charge d’ Affairs to Pakistan Pang Chunxue in theChinese Embassy in Islamabad, according to the PM Office. He offered hiscondolences on the demise of Chinese nationals in the Karachi Universityblast.

“We are deeply shocked and distressed at this dastardly attack on our IronBrother. All Pakistanis mourn their loss and offer their condolences to thebereaved families,” Sharif wrote in his note.

He further said that we remain committed to eliminating terrorists fromPakistani soil.

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar, Information MinisterMarriyum Aurangzeb, Planning and Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal, andInterior Minister Rana Sanaullah also accompanied PM Shehbaz.

Foreign Office has also strongly condemned the terrorist attack in thesoutheastern region, saying it targeted Pakistan-China friendship andcooperation.

MoFA also issued a statement that cited “The government and people ofPakistan extend their deepest condolences and sympathies to the families ofvictims who lost their lives in the incident”.
