KABUL: The head of the Taliban government in Afghanistan, MullahMohammad Hassan, has said in a statement that he hopes that theelection of Shahbaz Sharif as Prime Minister will boost bilateralrelations.
The statement came amid growing tensions between the two countriesover the escalation of attacks on Pakistani forces, with Pakistansaying the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was operating frominside Afghanistan.
Mullah Mohammad Hassan said that on behalf of the Government andpeople of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, I heartily congratulateyou (Shahbaz Sharif) on being elected the 23rd Prime Minister of theIslamic Republic of Pakistan.
