In Karachi, a power outage hit the Dhabeji pumping station on Monday,resulting in disruptions to the city’s water supply.
This pumping station, responsible for providing water to Karachi,experienced a power failure, potentially leading to a water shortage forthe city’s residents. The Water Corporation spokesperson explained that the72-inch diameter line, known as line number 5, was impacted by this poweroutage.
Water corporation officials are currently on-site, conducting acomprehensive inspection of the affected line to determine the root causeof the issue. The chief engineer of Bulkwater Corporation has confirmedthat efforts are actively underway to restore the affected line, aiming tominimize any inconvenience caused to the city’s residents due to thedisruption in water supply.
Furthermore, the chief engineer mentioned that the city’s water supply hasbeen temporarily redirected through alternative lines while the necessaryrepair work is carried out on the affected line.
