China, a member of the G20, and Pakistan, a non-member, vehemently opposedthe decision to convene an event in Kashmir, which they regard as a”disputed” territory. Furthermore, China has an ongoing territorial disputewith India over Arunachal Pradesh.
In a candid interview with the news agency PTI, the Prime Ministerunequivocally brushed aside these objections, underscoring India’sprerogative to conduct gatherings within its sovereign boundaries. Hisstance resolutely underscored India’s commitment to the principle ofterritorial sovereignty.
