Saraj-ul-Haq addressed a protest demonstration at Shahdara Masjid Shuhadaon Mall Road in Lahore, saying that our rulers have sold us to the IMF. Amonthly electricity bill of 40,000 rupees with thousands of rupees in taxeshas left our children sleeping hungry at night. This unjust system will notstand.
They stated whether it’s an electricity bill or a death warrant, we refuseto accept this global terrorism in the form of electricity bills. Theincrease in electricity prices must be reversed.
The leader of the Jamaat-e-Islami said, “Is the Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haqrepresenting Pakistan or the IMF? Decisions about electricity and petrolprice hikes are all from the IMF, but the people will not be their slaves.They claim to have taken loans from the IMF; the accounts of those who havetaken loans should be recovered.”
Saraj-ul-Haq emphasized that the government is betraying the people, whilethe government claims that IPPs are not foreign companies. The IPPs werecontracted by Muslim League, PTI, and PPP, and they have oppressed thepeople.
