Two of PTI chief Imran Khan’s lawyers, after visiting him in jail, quotedhim as saying, “I am willing to talk to all, but only about elections.”Barrister Gohar Khan, one of his lawyers, shared, “Finally met Khan sahibat Attock jail with other colleagues. Thank God, he is in great spirit butis concerned about the ongoing uncertainty, inflation, and terrorism.”Similarly, lawyer Nadeem Haider Panjutha posted, ”
Khan sahib dismissed all fake news about him seeking pardon, worrying andwanting to leave the country. He said ‘I will live and die in Pakistan.’ Healso said we are willing to talk to all but just on elections.” Earlyelections have been a key demand of the PTI since Imran’s prime ministerialterm ended prematurely in April last year.
Despite efforts to negotiate with the then-Pakistan Democratic Movement-ledgovernment, elections remained elusive. PTI leaders stressed the need forelections within 90 days of the National Assembly’s dissolution on August9, but the Election Commission of Pakistan cited legal constraints forpostponing elections. Imran Khan, still in jail, faces various legal cases, including one related to a missing diplomatic document.
