In a tragic incident, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leader Muhammad Zeb met a fatalend when unidentified assailants carried out a lethal attack on him in theShalbandi area of Buner. The assailants indiscriminately opened fire onMuhammad Zeb, leading to his untimely demise.
Additionally, two other individuals suffered injuries as a result of thisunfortunate attack. Law enforcement officials have determined that theprimary motive behind this act of violence was personal enmity, and theperpetrators managed to flee the scene, evading immediate capture.
It is pertinent to note that Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Ameer, SirajulHaq, had earlier announced a nationwide shutdown or “shutter down strike”scheduled for the same day. Speaking at a youth convention in Rawalpindi,Sirajul Haq implored the nation to support and participate in thiscountrywide strike as a means to voice their collective concerns regardinginflation and exorbitant electricity bills.
He criticized the ruling authorities for leading the nation into a direcrisis and making the country’s economy and politics heavily reliant on theInternational Monetary Fund (IMF).
