The announcement of Pakistan’s first match date in the Asia Cup Super 4stage has been made, and the national team will play against the team thatsecured the second position in Group B on September 6th at Lahore’s GaddafiStadium. It is important to note that Pakistan has already reached thefirst team in the Super 4 stage of Asia Cup 2023, as the Pakistan-Indiamatch ended without a result, awarding both teams 1 point each.
Pakistan’s team remained unbeaten in the group stage, defeating Nepal,thanks to excellent bowling by Pakistani bowlers. Before completing 50overs, the entire Indian team was out in the third match of the Asia Cup,with India setting a target of 267 runs for Pakistan.
In that match at Kandy’s Pallekele Stadium, Indian captain Rohit Sharmafell victim to Shaheen Afridi’s bowling at a total score of 15, as Rohitscored 11 runs off 22 deliveries. Later, Shadab Khan and Hasan Rauf madeefforts to advance the team’s score, but Shadab Khan was bowled out byHasan Rauf at 14 runs, and Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan contributed totaking the score further, with Ishan Kishan scoring 82 runs before gettingout.
Hardik Pandya was dismissed for 87 runs on a total score of 239, facing 90deliveries. Ravi Jadeja and Shardul Thakur remained guests with scores of14 and 3 runs, respectively. Kuldip Yadav took 4 runs, becoming the prey ofNasim Shah. On the Pakistan side, Shaheen Shah Afridi took 4 wickets, HasanRauf took 3, and Nasim Shah took 3 wickets. In the match being played atKandy’s Pallekele Stadium, Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss anddecided to bat first, stating that the weather doesn’t make a difference,and they will set a big target against Pakistan.
