Amir of the Islamic Jamiat Pakistan, Siraj ul Haq, has said that tomorrowthere will be a nationwide strike, and the nation should make the shutdownstrike successful.
Speaking at the Youth Convention in Rawalpindi, Siraj ul Haq stated thatPakistan has not been fortunate enough to have a system for which theQuaid-e-Azam struggled, and the rulers have pushed the country towards adead-end street. Pakistan’s politics and economy are under the IMF’scontrol. Siraj ul Haq questioned if the Prime Minister claims that he willseek permission from the IMF for relief, is he more concerned about IMF’sinterests than the welfare of the people? The 13-party alliance has madethe public slaves to the IMF.
They said that they would never accept IMF slavery under anycircumstances. The 5 years that the coalition parties ruled, they ruinedthe country. The Prime Minister says inflation isn’t as high as the noisethat was made. I ask the Prime Minister, when is the time for the strike?
While holding a press conference in Mansoora, Secretary-General of theIslamic Jamiat, Amir ul Azim, said that the September 2nd Sunday strikewould be peaceful. If anyone attempts to disrupt the situation, they willbe considered representatives of the rulers. If the increase in electricitybills is not rolled back, they will announce future action.
