Pakistan government fulfills yet another demand of IMF

The federal government has fulfilled the IMF’s condition regarding levyafter the rise in prices in petroleum. According to sources, the full levyrate on petrol has been imposed, resulting in a levy of 60 rupees per literon petrol.

Sources from the Ministry of Finance state that a levy of 50 rupees is alsoimposed on diesel, and there is a concern about increasing the levy on bothproducts up to 60 rupees per liter.

The Ministry of Finance sources have mentioned that approval for increasingthe levy was given in the budget, and parliamentary approval is necessaryto levy more than 60 rupees.
