There is a likelihood of further increase in electricity prices under themonthly fuel price adjustment for June.
There is a chance of raise in power tariff for the consumers ofKarachi-Electric (K-Electric), by Rs2.33 per unit, while for the consumersof other power distribution companies, hike by Rs1.89 per unit is expected.
Both K-Electric and the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) haveseparately filed petitions in the National Electric Power RegulatoryAuthority (NEPRA).
The NEPRA will take up their petitions for the hearing on July 26.
