Another case filed against former PM Imran Khan over illegal Nikkah

A citizen on Thursday challenged in Islamabad’s district and sessions courta civil judge’s decision in which he had declared that former primeminister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s nikkah during iddat case wasinadmissible for the hearing.

Sessions Judge-East Azam Khan summoned the PTI chairman and his wife BushraBibi in the case on July 13.

In his appeal, Muhammad Hanif said that the judge, while declaring that thecase was not fit for the hearing, did not fulfill legal requirements.“Therefore, it is prayed to the court to declare civil judge’s May 13 ordernull and void,” read the appeal.

A court in Islamabad, on May 13, had declared as inadmissible a petition inwhich it was contended that former premier Imran Khan and former first ladyBushra Bibi cohabited despite the fact that their nikah had taken placewithout completion of the latter’s mandatory iddat period.

The petitioner had claimed that Bushra Bibi was divorced by her formerhusband in November 2017 and married Imran Khan on January 1, 2018 despitethe fact that her iddat period had not completed.
