PTI constitutes three members committee over political talks with government

LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Sunday formed a three-membercommittee, consisting of Pervaiz Khattak, Ejaz Chaudhry, and Mian MehmoodurRasheed, to hold a dialogue with the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) on the ongoingpolitical crisis in the country.

This move comes after the JI leader Sirajul Haq’s initiative to bring thegovernment and opposition closer. Haq had suggested setting up a committeeto develop a larger consensus for holding elections in Punjab, KhyberPakhtunkhwa, and eventually the entire country during his meetings with PTIChairman Imran Khan and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Lahore.

The PPP has also formed a three-member body to persuade allies in thegovernment, including the PML-N and JUI-F, to hold talks with the PTI onall issues, including elections, to end the ongoing crises.

PPP has constituted a three-member body — comprising Senator Yousuf RazaGillani, Federal Minister for Commerce Syed Naveed Qamar and PM’s Adviseron Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Qamar Zaman Kaira — to persuade allies inthe government to start the process with the Imran-led party.
