Another meeting of the National Security Committee under the chair of PrimeMinister Shehbaz Sharif began at PM House in Islamabad on Monday afternoon.
The meeting is being attended by the army chief, chairman joint chiefs ofstaff committee and ISI director general.
Ministers of interior, defence and information are also present in themeeting.
The meeting is reviewing the recommendations made during the previous NSCmeeting.
The meeting is expected to take up a raft of issues including launching ofa new anti-terrorism operation on the agenda.
Sources said a string of important decisions are likely to be made as thecivil and military geared up for the top security huddle.
Besides briefing from security officials and presentation of reports fromdifferent ministries, the meeting will sanction a set of guidelinesregarding national security and economy.
The meeting may also clear the way for launching a new operation againstthe terrorists in the country.
The affairs concerning the borders between Pakistan and Afghanistan willalso feature in the meeting.
During the last NSC moot held on Friday, the participants had resolved toaccelerate operations against terrorists in the wake of rising attacksacross the country.
In a statement issued after the security huddle , the PM’s Office had saidthe NSC participants expressed an unequivocal opinion that Pakistan’snational interests will not be compromised and no one will be allowed toharm national security.
The meetings come after the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) had announced anend to the ceasefire with Islamabad and increased attacks on securityforces, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
