Lahore High Court (LHC) has upheld the verdict of the lower court that hadabolished former premier Imran Khan’s right to defend in a Rs 10 billiondefamation case filed against him by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
The LHC dismissed the pleas filed by Imran Khan seeking nullification ofthe verdict of the lower court in Rs 10 billion defamation case filedagainst him by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. The lower court, in averdict, had abolished Khan’s right to defend.
In a hearing held today, the LHC Judge Justice Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbalupheld the verdict of the lower court and dismissed Khan’s plea.
In the plea, it was stated that Khan raised objections on the PrimeMinister Shahbaz Sharif’s questions which were rejected by the court. Thecourt abolished Khan’s right to defend upon his failure to answer thequestions of Shahbaz.
