Prime Minister Shahbaz Shariflinkhaswelcomed the Supreme Court’s step of taking suo motu notice of the murderof journalist Arshad Sharif.
He shared these views on the social media site, Twitter. “I had alreadywritten a letter to the honorable chief justice of Pakistan for setting upa judicial commission to probe the murder,” he added. He also vowed thatthe government will extend full cooperation to the apex court.
He further said that at Islamabad Journalist Safety Forum today hehighlighted steps taken by the government to ensure media freedom. In Asia,Pakistan has performed very well on the UN Plan of Action, he added. “Ishared the resolve to fully implement the Protection of Journalists & MediaProfessionals Act,” he said.
