The power consumers should brace themselves for another electric shock asthe Discos have filed an application in Nepra seeking Rs2 per unit hike inpower rate.
If the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority allows Rs2/unitincrease in the power rate, it will put an extra burden of Rs42.63 billionon the electricity users.
The hike has been sought in the first quarterly adjustment charges of thecurrent year.
The increase will not be applied on the K-Electric users.
The regulatory authority will hear the petition filed by the electricitydistribution companies on Nov 15.
Separately, another application has been filed in the Nepra seeking a 51paisa raise in the electricity price of the K-Electric.
The application was submitted by the federal government.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority will hold hearing on thepetition on Nov 8.
