Pakistan and Oman decide to further enhance defence and security ties

Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Pakistan Dr Al Sheikh Mohammed OmarAhmed Al Marhoon Tuesday called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General QamarJaved Bajwa, at GHQ, said a statement issued by Inter Services PublicRelations (ISPR).

During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional security situationand partnerships in various fields were discussed.

COAS said that Pakistan values its brotherly relations with Gulf countriesand Pakistan-Oman relations are close, warm, cordial and deep.

COAS also expressed that two countries have great potential for cooperationin defence and maritime security which could become a binding factor in ourstrategic partnership.

The Ambassador of Oman expressed his grief over the devastation caused byfloods in Pakistan and offered sincere condolence to the families of thevictims.

The visiting dignitary also appreciated Pakistan’s efforts for regionalstability and pledged to play his role for further improvement indiplomatic cooperation with Pakistan at all levels.
